TUESDAY, APRIL 14, 1992 <br /> <br />hearing for April 28, 1992 on a request by Mike Lester on behalf of <br />Piedmont Construction Corporation to abandon an unimproved, unnamed <br />street space located on the east side of Stephens Street. <br /> <br />Mayor McClain announced that Council would hold a retirement dinner for <br />Vice-Mayor Groden on May 27, 1992 at 6:30 P.M. at the Mayor's home at <br />1715 Meadowview Lane. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a financial report for the month ending 3/31/92. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a quarterly attendance report for Boards and <br />Commissions. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344(A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and carried by a <br />unanimous recorded vote, Council convened into Executive Session for <br />the purpose of considering (1) appointments/reappointments to the <br />Martinsville-Henry County Clean Community Commission and the <br />Martinsville Transportation Safety Commission, as authorized by <br />Subsection 1; and (2) the acquisition of real property for public <br />purposes, as authorized by Subsection 3. At the conclusion of this <br />Executive Session, Council reconvened into regular session, wherein, by <br />a recorded vote, each member of Council certified that (1) only public <br />business matters exempted from open meeting requirements were discussed <br />in said Executive Session; and (2) only those business matters <br />identified in the motion convening the Executive Session were heard, <br />discussed or considered during said Session. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council made the <br /> <br /> <br />
