TUESDAY, MARCH 31, 1992 <br /> <br />Mr. James Hobson, 1118 Highland Street made the following comments: <br />(1) he favors a merger of the City and County school systems; (2) he <br />complained about a slurry seal program which was done on City streets <br />several years ago; and (3) he complained that too many City employees <br />were working at one time to fix a water line. Vice-Mayor Groden stated <br />that he favored beginning a dialogue between the City and County on the <br />school merger issue. Councilman Oakes stated that he felt the City and <br />County School Boards should be working together as the Council and <br />Board of Supervisors are. <br /> <br />Mr. Erwin Katz, 1040 Oak Street, spoke in favor of paid paramedics for <br />the City and County. Councilman Oakes stated that the City and County <br />have made an effort to work on the problem through an emphasis on <br />volunteer recruiting and training efforts, but that he felt a five-year <br />plan should be established for this issue which would include paid <br />paramedics. <br /> <br />Mr. Bruce Dallas, 211 Massey Street, made the following comments: (1) <br />the smoke being produced by V.M. Draper Company located on Jackson <br />Street is still a problem; (2) he stated that there needs to be a <br />reduction of Public Works Department employees; (3) he complained about <br />the City "subsidizing" Hooker Field. City Manager Reynolds stated that <br />he would look into the V.M. Draper situation. <br /> <br />Mr. J.B. Travis, 401 Fifth Street, complained about parking tickets <br />being given to attendees of the Mt. Sinai Church. The City Manager <br />stated that he would review the situation. <br /> <br />Mr. Bruce Dallas stated that he had contacted the Public Works Director <br /> <br /> <br />
