TUESDAY, MARCH 10, 1992 <br /> <br />saw the need for a trade show that would allow businesses and <br />industries in the community to display and educate our <br />citizens as to the products and services which are available <br />in the community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, through the efforts of a Trade Show Committee and <br />the Chamber's Executive Committee a Business '92 Trade Show <br />was organized and conducted at Patrick Henry Community <br />College March 3-5, 1992; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there were 77 exhibitors who participated in this <br />event; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, approximately 4,600 persons attended this event; <br />now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, in regular session assembled March 10, 1992, that <br />it does hereby enthusiastically commend the Martinsville- <br />Henry County Chamber of Commerce and all those who served in <br />any capacity in the organizing and conducting of the Business <br />'92 Trade Show for the success of this event. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a financial report for the month ending 2/29/92 <br />from the Director of Finance. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a 1991 Annual Report of the Fire Department by <br /> <br />Fire Chief W. Lewis Reeves. Several members of Council commended the <br />Department for their work. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a 1991 Annual Report of the Martinsville Volunteer <br />Fire Company° Several members of Council commended the Volunteer <br />Company for their service to the community. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a report on the parking time limits on Fayette <br />Street in which the City Administration reported that the time limits <br />had been changed to 2 hours on a section of the street.
