Yeas: (5) Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Tea, gue. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None. <br /> <br /> 2 <br />TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 1999 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THANKS TO <br /> <br />PULASKI FURNITURE CORPORATION <br /> <br />WIIEREAS, Pulaski Furniture Corporation is a major industry and employer in the Martinsville-Henry <br />County area, offering employment, capital investment and other contributions to .the improvement of <br />economic conditions in our area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Pulaski Fumiture Corporation has recently. provided significant improvement to the City's <br />curb appeal by the demolition of a dilapidated water tank on Aaron Street, thereby enhancing community <br />safety and neighborhood revitalization; and <br /> <br />.WHEREAS, this demolition constitutes community improvement by Pulaski Furniture Corporation <br />which will help to bring more commerce,-more jobs, and a better standard of living to our area; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular session assembled <br />February 9, 1999, that it does hereby express its sincere appreciation for and recognition of the Pulaski <br />Furniture Corporation for its contribution in supporting economic growth in the City of Martinsville <br />and Henry County. <br /> <br />Mr. Via thanked Council on behalf of Pulaski Furniture Corporation, and stated Pulaski's intention to not <br />only remain in the Martinsville community, but expand operations as well. All members of Council and <br />the audience present gave their applause. <br /> <br /> Council next considered adoption, on second reading, of Ordinance No. 99-1 amending Section <br />II--Definitions and Section XI--District Regulations-Professional District, Paragraph J--Permitted Uses- <br />RP-1 Residential-Professional District, Sub-paragraph 4---Life Care Facility, of the City's Zoning <br />Ordinance. Council Member Haskell asked if the Ordinance as presented included provision for a public <br /> <br /> <br />
