~ Enclosure #1-a 1 <br /> TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 1999 <br /> A regular, semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor <br /> <br /> Mark A. Crabtree presiding, was held Tuesday, February 9, 1999, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, <br /> beginning at 7:00 P.M. The following members of Council were present: Dr. Mark A. Crabtree, Mayor; <br /> M. Gene Teague, Vice-Mayor; and Council Members BruCe H.T. Dallas, 'Elizabeth H. Haskell and Terry <br /> L. Roop. <br /> <br /> Following delivery of the Invocation by Council Member Bruce Dallas the Mayor extended a <br />cordial welcome to all in attendance. In addition, Mayor Crabtree recognized the attendance of Winn <br />Bassett, a young Boy Scout attending the meeting as part of a course of study on government. <br /> <br /> Council first considered approval of the minutes of their meetings of December 10, 1998, and <br />January 12 and21, 1999. Council Member Haskell recommended an addition to the Minutes of January <br />21, 1999. These minutes were approved as submitted and amended, by the following vote, all members <br />voting: <br />Vote: 5-0 <br /> <br />Yeas: (5) Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None. <br /> <br />Council next considered Business from the Floor. There were no speakers. <br /> <br /> Council next considered adoption of a Resolution recognizing Pulaski Furniture Corporation for <br />its efforts in community improvements, thereby enhancing economic development opportunities within <br />the City. Mr. Carl Via was present to represent Pulaski Furniture Corporation. Council adopted the <br />Resolution below by the following vote, all members voting: <br />Vote: 5-0 <br /> <br /> <br />
