Hodges as Acting Clerk of Council at an established salary
of $200 per meeting until Mrs. Janice Lawson resumes these duties.

Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council gave
approval, with minor revisions, for the City Manager to execute a five-
year lease agreement between Hooker Furniture Corporation and the City
for the recreational facility and improvements known as Hooker Field
(currently English Field).

Mr. Heater explained that the current lease between the City and Hooker
Furniture did not expire until December 31, 1992. The lease payments were
designed to compensate the City for the costs it lncurs in connection
with its obligations under the lease. The expenses include' labor for
field preparation and materials, equipment usage, materials and
electric service. Upon motion, duly seconded and by a vote of 4 - 0,
with Vice-Mayor Groden abstaining, Council gave approval, with minor
