TUESDAY, OCTOBER 12, 1993 <br /> <br />law enforcement personnel; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is desirable that the City of Martinsville have available <br />to it a reserve force from which temporary assistance can be drawn in <br />time of need; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this contingency is provided for by the Agreement proposed by <br />the police chiefs and sheriffs of the West Piedmont Planning District, <br />which Agreement provides the mechanism for the constitution of such a <br />reserve force involving all local law enforcement agencies of Franklin, <br />Henry, Patrick, and Pittsylvania Counties and those of the Cities of <br />Danville and Martinsville and the Town of Rocky Mount; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in <br />regular session assembled October 12, 1993, that said Agreement, as <br />recommended by the police chiefs and sheriffs of the West Piedmont <br />Planning District, be, and the same hereby is, approved and <br />implemented; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police of the City of <br />Martinsville be designated as the Chief Law Enforcement Officer under <br />said Agreement and that he is hereby authorized to sign and implement <br />the Agreement on behalf of the City of Martinsville. <br /> <br /> APPROVING AN AGREEMENT PROPOSED BY <br /> THE POLICE CHIEFS AND SHERIFFS OF <br /> THE WEST PIEDMONT PLANNING DISTRICT FOR A <br /> HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION SQUAD AND DESIGNATING THE POLICE CHIEF <br />AS THE CHIEF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER FOR THE CITY OF MARTINSVILLE <br />UNDER SAID AGREEMENT AND <br /> AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF SAID AGREEMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an emergency situation may require the reinforcement of local <br />law enforcement personnel; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is desirable that the City of Martinsville have available <br />to it a reserve force from which temporary assistance can be drawn in <br />time of need; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this contingency is provided for by the Agreement proposed by <br />the police chiefs and sheriffs of the West Piedmont Planning District, <br />which Agreement provides the mechanism for the constitution of such a <br />reserve force involving all local law enforcement agencies of Franklin, <br />Henry, Patrick, and Pittsylvania Counties and those of the Cities of <br />Danville and Martinsville and the Town of Rocky Mount; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in <br />regular session assembled October 12, 1993, that said Agreement, as <br />recommended by the police chiefs and sheriffs of the West Piedmont <br />Planning District, be, and the same hereby is, approved and <br />implemented; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police of the City of <br />Martinsville be designated as the Chief Law Enforcement Officer under <br />said Agreement and that he is hereby authorized to sign and implement <br />the Agreement on behalf of the City of Martinsville. <br /> <br /> <br />
