TURSD~Y, ALTGU~ 10, 1993 <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in <br />regular session assembled August 10, 1993, that it does hereby amend <br />Chapter 13--Offenses-Miscellaneous, of the City Code, as follows: <br /> <br />Section 13-18. Sexual solicitation or harassment. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful and a Class 1 misdemeanor for any person to <br />make any solicitation, offer, suggestion or request for, or express or <br />suggest the desire to engage in, any act of sexual intercourse, sodomy, <br />animate or inanimate object sexual penetration, indecent exposure, <br />buggery, cunnilingus, fellatio, anallingus, oral or anal intercourse, <br />or fondling of intimate parts to any individual to whom such person is <br />unacquainted, or to any individual to whom such person is acquainted if <br />such acquaintance has informed such person, orally or in writing, that <br />such acquaintance does not wish to receive any such attention or <br />communication from such person. <br /> Cross reference-Penalty for Class 1 misdemeanor, Section 1-11. <br /> <br />Section 13-24. Peeping toms. <br /> <br /> If any person enters upon the property of another and secretly or <br />furtively peeps, spies or attempts to peep or spy into or through, a <br />window, door or other aperture of any building, structure or other <br />enclosure of any nature occupied or intended for occupancy as a <br />dwelling, whether or not such building, structure or enclosure is <br />permanently situated or transportable and whether or not such occupancy <br />is permanent or temporary, such person shall be guilty of a Class 1 <br />misdemeanor. <br /> Cross reference-Penalty for Class 1 misdemeanor, Section 1-11. <br /> State law reference--Similar provisions, Code of Virginia, Section <br />18.2-130. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a quarterly investment report by the City <br />Treasurer for the period ending 6/30/93. Bernice H. Smith, City <br />Treasurer, was present to make the report and to respond to questions <br />from Council. <br /> <br />Council considered a request by the Police Department that Council <br />accept and appropriate funds in the amount of $1,599.30 received from <br />the sale of seized vehicles. Police Chief Terry L. Roop explained the <br />funds would be used to fund items needed by the department but not <br />funded in the FY 93-94 budget. Upon motion, duly seconded and by <br />unanimous vote, Council approved the supplemental appropriation. <br /> <br /> <br />
