.46 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, AUGUST 10, 1993 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly.seconded and by unanimous vote, Council set a public <br />hearing for its August 24, 1993 meeting on several proposed amendments <br />to the City's Zoning Ordinance. Vice-Mayor Adams noted that one of the <br />amendments concerned the termination of nonconforming uses involving <br />the transportation or temporary storage of hazardous waste and asked <br />the City Attorney to prepare a report on the procedure which would need <br />to be followed by a citizen seeking to petition Council to terminate <br />such a nonconforming use, Councilman Oakes asked the City Attorney and <br />City .Manager to make a recommendation to Council on whether the <br />Ordinance should be adopted. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a financial report for the month ending 6/30/93° <br />Council asked the Administration to prepare a report which would <br />reconcile the original FY 92-93 budget with the final budget which <br />included supplemental appropriations. <br /> <br />In matters not on the agenda, the following items were discussed: (1) <br />Vice-Mayor Adams suggested that the signs which currently direct <br />motorists to "Downtown" be changed to "Uptown"; (2) Vice-Mayor Adams <br />asked the City Manager to review the Business, Professional and <br />Occupational License tax rate for professionals as it compares to Henry <br />County; (3) Vice-Mayor Adams asked for a report on the total amount of <br />City funds spent on activities directed toward selecting a site for a <br />new Landfill in Henry County; (4) In response to a discussion initiated <br />by Councilman Draper regarding economic development, Council asked the <br />Mayor to write a follow-up letter to the Henry County ~oar~ o~ <br />Supervisors regarding Council's desire to discuss an alternate funding <br />~ormula ~or t~e E~o~omic~e~elepme~t Cerpor~tio~ of ~artinsv~lle-~enrY <br /> <br />County. <br /> <br /> <br />
