TUESDAY, MAY 11, 1993 <br />Manager's family at the time they move to the City); and (2) $500 to <br />pay the City Manager a one-time stipend effective November 30, 1993 <br /> <br />(the same time and amount as employees under the City Manager). <br />Council noted the City Manager's salary would remain at $70,000 for FY <br />93-94. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council asked the <br />City Manager to study the request made by Richard Prillaman to <br />establish a separate class of tangible personal property for heavy <br />construction equipment and report back to Council at a later date. <br /> <br />City Manager Reynolds summarized the changes made to the budget by the <br />City Council and additional reductions made by the City Manager in the <br />amount of $60,855. Mr. Reynolds noted the additional reductions were <br />mainly in the areas of overtime and travel expenses. Mr. Reynolds said <br />neither Department Heads nor himself would attend annual conferences of <br />their professional associations during FY 93-94, the second straight <br />year for this policy. Mr. Reynolds said the reductions in overtime <br />would necessitate changes in the work schedules of certain divisions <br />and adjustments by employees, but would not result in service <br />reductions. <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Adams noted the budget as proposed still contained a <br />reduction in the projected unexpended fund balance as of June 30, 1994 <br />in all funds of approximately $400,000 (later corrected to $352,161). <br />Vice-Mayor Adams said even though the proposed budget decreases <br />expenditures by over $700,000 from FY 92-93 to FY 93-94 and raises <br />taxes significantly, the "company is still going in the hole". <br /> <br /> <br />
