74 <br /> <br />FRIDAY, APRIL 23, 1993 <br /> <br />tO be a "cut above" other divisions in the State. <br /> <br />In discussing Mr. Reynolds' proposal to provide the School Division <br />$180,000 in meals tax revenues for capital improvements, Councilman <br />Oakes said his interpretation of the purpose of meals tax revenues was <br />to provide funding for the facilities study and costs related to it, <br />not to fund ordinary capital needs for the Schools° Mr. Lamm said he <br />supported Mr. Reynolds' proposal for the use of meals tax funds for FY <br />93-94. <br /> <br />Council then began a page-by-page review of the School Division budget <br />proposal. In response to a question by Vice-Mayor Adams, Nancy <br />Brammer, Assistant Superintendent/Instruction, and Beth Baptist, <br />Assistant Superintendent/Pupil Personnel, said the School Division was <br />developing an evaluation form for students and parents to use in <br />evaluating the progress toward achieving the goals contained in the <br />School Division's Mission Statement. Vice-Mayor Adams commended the <br />School Division on the Mission Statement. <br /> <br />In response to a question by Councilman Oakes, Mr. Lamm said no <br />students would be charged for summer school attendance. Councilman <br />Oakes said he felt those who could afford to pay a fee for summer <br />school should do soo <br /> <br />In response to a question by Vice-Mayor Adams, Mr. Lamm said the School <br />Board had included in the budget proposal a 15% health insurance <br />premium increase beginning January 1, 1994. Councilman Oakes said he <br />felt there was an agreement within the Health Insurance Committee that <br />no health insurance premium increase would be built into the FY 93-94 <br /> <br /> <br />
