TUESDAY, JANUARY 26, 1993 <br /> <br />is paid. <br /> <br />Sec. 9-48. <br /> <br />Dry Cleaning Establishments; <br /> Fire Suppression Systems. <br /> <br /> Every dry cleaning room and dry dyeing room employing high and <br />moderate hazard solvents which are not protected by an automatic fire <br />suppression system and constituting a fire hazard shall be provided <br />with an approved fire suppression system, if required by the fire <br />official. <br /> <br />Sec. 9-49. Decorative Material; Definition. <br /> <br /> The definition of the term "decorative materials" as contained in <br />said SFPC shall be expanded to include all such materials as curtains, <br />draperies, streamers, fabrics, cotton batting, straw, hay, vines, <br />leaves, stalks, trees and moss used for decorative effect, including <br />surface coverings applied over interior finish materials for acoustical <br />and decorative purposes. All such decorative materials shall be <br />noncombustible or they shall be flame resistant complying with the <br />requirement of the NFiPA 701 listed in Appendix A of the Model Code <br />incorporated into the SFPC. The term decorative materials shall not <br />include ordinary window shades or interior finish materials, such as <br />wainscotting, paneling or wallpaper which are regulated by the building <br />code., Live Christmas trees.may be used in churches if their use and <br />location is approved by the fire official. Christmas trees shall not <br />be placed in aisles or areas which are a means of egress from the <br />building. <br /> <br />, Cross reference - Building Code Section 6-1. <br /> <br />Sec. 9-50. Violations. <br /> <br /> Any person who shall refuse, fail or neglect to comply with the <br />provisions of the fire prevention code adopted in this article or with <br />any of the requirements thereof shall be guilty of a Class 2 <br />misdemeanor. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that an emergency exists, and that this <br />ordinance amendment shall be effective on and after January 27, 1993. <br /> <br />Council considered adoption, on first reading, of Ordinance No. 93-2 <br />amending regulations governing industrial discharges to the sanitary <br />sewer system as a part of the City's Water and Sewer Services Terms and <br />Conditions. City Manager Reynolds commented that Director of Water <br />Resources John Dyches had made further contact with area industries <br />since Council's January 12, 1993 meeting and that questions raised by <br />Gene Stanley, of Virginia Mirror, at that meeting had been resolved. <br />Councilman Draper commended Mr. Dyches for his efforts in working with <br /> <br /> <br />
