TUESDAY, DECEMBER 22, 1992
neighborhood Town Meeting. After introductory comments by Vice-Mayor
Adams, the following comments were received:

Glenn Davis, 554 Dillard Street, stated that "no stopping or standing"
signs near the Tultex Plant on Franklin Street were being ignored, thus
creating a traffic problem during shift changes. Mr. Davis also stated
that a "no stopping or standing" sign is needed near a blind curve on
Dillard Street. Mr. Davis indicated that a previous sign at that
location had been knocked down and not replaced. These comments were
supported by Becky Davis, also of 554 Dillard Street, who added that
many homes on Dillard Street do not have driveways, thereby adding to
the on-street parking hazard.

J. B. Trayis, 401 Fifth Street, stated that he supported the increase
in residential refuse collection rates.

Carlton Hill, 1310 Chatham Road, expressed concern over and opposition
to any use of public funds for future capital expenditures at Hooker
Field. Several members of Council assured Mr. Hill that any such
request for funding would be considered at a public meeting at which
input from any concerned citizens would be considered.

BarryMorrison, 910 Vine Street, asked if consideration had been given
to installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Commonwealth
Boulevard and Northside Drive. It was stated that the Transportation
Safety Commission was examining that issue at the current time and the
City Administration would be considering the project as a part of the
capital improvements program.
