TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 1994 <br /> <br />Natural History, (2) the continued State funding of said Museum, and <br />(3) the continued physical establishment of the Museum in the <br />Martinsville-Henry County area. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council authorized <br />the Mayor as voting delegate and the Vice-Mayor as alternate for the <br />Virginia Municipal League Annual Conference to be held October 16-18, <br />1994 in Norfolk. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a financial report for the month ending August 31, <br />1994. Vice-Mayor Oakes requested a report be presented during the next <br />calendar quarter on the financial impact of purchasing power from <br />Public Service of Indiana. In response to a question by Mayor Adams, <br />Mr. Reynolds stated that during November the staff would be able to <br />assess the revenue impact of the installation of truck scales at the <br />City Landfill. Mayor Adams requested the Administration attempt to <br />seek a letter of variance to operate the City's Wastewater Treatment <br />Plant at the 300 ADMI color removal limit, citing the cost to local <br />textile industries of maintaining a lower limit. <br /> <br />In matters not on the agenda, the following items were discussed: (1) <br />in response to a question by Vice-Mayor Oakes, Mr. Reynolds noted that <br />the impact of the recent downsizing at Sara Lee's Martinsville <br />facilities would notbe felt until after November 1; and (2) Vice-Mayor <br />Oakes requested the Administration prepare a Resolution declaring <br />October 24-30 as National Unfunded Mandates Week in the City and upon <br />motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council endorsed this <br />request. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1.344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous <br /> <br /> <br />
