MONDAY, APRIL 25, 1994 <br /> <br />additional appropriation in the amount of $450 to be used to purchase <br />a typewriter for the Registrar's Office. <br /> <br />In discussing the budget of the Capital Reserve Fund, Council noted the <br />reduction in the appropriation for the YMCA from $50,000 to 825,000, <br />which will fulfill for FY 94-95 the general commitment of the City to <br />provide $25,000 for ten years for the YMCA's facility on Starling <br />Avenue. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, 'Council approved an <br />additional appropriation in the Capital Reserve Fund of $20,000 to be <br />used by the Administration for capital improvements to the Uptown area. <br />Mr. Reynolds stated a committee would be formed to plan for the capital <br />improvements which will be funded by the appropriation. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved an <br />additional appropriation of $5,000 to the Economic DeMelopment <br />Corporation, making the total FY 94-95 budget for this line item <br />$77,000. It was noted that this appropriation would provide 40% of the <br />EDC's budget, with 60% being provided by Henry County. Mayor McClain <br />asked Mr. Reynolds to schedule a meeting between representatives of the <br />City, EDC and Henry County to discuss possible revisions to the EDC's <br />bylaws to reflect the change in the funding structure. Mayor McClain <br />and Councilman Willjams would continue to represent Council for the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by a vote of 4 "yes" and 1 "no" (Mayor <br />McClain), Council approved an additional appropriation of $12,000 for <br />the Virginia Museum of Natural History, making the FY 94-95 <br /> <br /> <br />
