Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved an <br />additional appropriation of $1,800 for travel expenses of City Council <br />members, making the total FY 94-95 budget for this line item $8,000. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved an <br />appropriation of $17,000 to be added to the budget of the Community <br />Development Coordinator to be used to fund an Uptown "back office <br />industry" or small business study. It was noted that the Economic <br />Development Corporation had requested Council appropriate these funds <br />to the EDC in order to fund such a study, but this appropriation would <br />allow for the study to be contracted by the City Administration, with <br />EDC participation on a steering committee which would oversee the <br />study. City Manager Reynolds noted the EDC had also requested an <br />additional 815,000 appropriation for FY 93-94 to be used to fund the <br />Corporation's operating budget. Council requested that this matter be <br />placed on the May 10, 1994 Council agenda for consideration. <br /> <br />Mr. Fitts stated that, as a result of receiving information from the <br />State, the Social Services Department total budget request would be <br />$1,414,736, a reduction of $12,449 from the original request. <br /> <br />In discussing the budget request of the City Sheriff, Vice-Mayor Adams, <br />noting the request for supplemental appropriation contained on the <br />April 26, 1994 Council agenda to fund two Sheriff's vehicles during FY <br />93-94, made a motion to reduce the appropriation for Sheriff's vehicles <br />to allow for the purchase of one vehicle rather than three vehicles <br />during FY 94-95.
