WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20, 1994 <br /> <br />homeless and housing assistance, counseling, and administers the Head <br /> <br />Start Program in the City. <br /> <br />The budget request of the Martinsville Uptown Revitalization <br />Association was presented by Uptown Executive Director Jennifer Dalla <br />Vecchia. Uptown requested $20,000 in operating funds. The City <br />Manager included $10,000 in the basic budget and $5,000 as recommended <br />funding in the Supplemental Budget for this organization. Ms. Dalla <br />Vecchia noted Uptown would also be requesting $20,000 in capital <br />funding for improvements to the Uptown area, which was not included in <br />the City Manager's budget proposal. Mr. Reynolds stated he would be <br />recommending funding of the capital request through use of capital <br />funds budgeted for the YMCA's building program. Mr. Reynolds had <br />originally included $50,000 in capital funding for the YMCA, but had <br />since determined that S25,000 would be sufficient to fulfill the City's <br />commitment for FY 94-95. <br /> <br />Council heard the budget request of the Adult Day Care Center. Alice <br />Culler, Executive Director, was present to request $5,000 for FY 94-95, <br />which was not recommended for funding by the City Manager. <br /> <br />Council heard the budget request of Stepping Stones, Inc., with Pamela <br />Pritchett, Director, being present to request 85,000 for FY 94-95 to <br />fund the agency's transportation services. The City Manager did not <br />recommend funding for this agency. <br /> <br />Barbara Helmick, Executive Director of CONTACT of Martinsville-Henry <br />County, requested $5,000 for this agency, which was not recommended for <br />funding by the City Manager. <br /> <br /> <br />
