WEDNESDAY. APRIL 20. 1994 <br /> <br />Council reviewed the budget request of the Martinsville-Henry County <br />Rescue Squad Association, which asked for 825,000 to be used to support <br />the Rescue Squads' capital improvements program. Mr. Summerlin also <br />responded to questions from Council on this item, which was not <br />recommended for funding by the City Manager. <br /> <br />The budget request of the Joint City/County Communications Center was <br />reviewed, with Center Director Henry Gilbert being present to respond <br />to questions from the members of Council. Mr. Gilbert reported the <br />proposed budget ($177,271) reflects funding of 32% City and 68% Henry <br />County and includes $28,177 as the City share of a computerized mapping <br />system. <br /> <br />The budget request of the Social Services Department was reviewed, with <br />Director Pat Conrad being present to respond to questions from Council. <br />The budget request as presented by Ms. Conrad totalled 81,414,736, of <br />which 8231,556 were local funds, representing a decrease in local <br />funding of $3,410 from FY 93-94. <br /> <br />Ms. Conrad and James Tobin, Director of Piedmont Regional Community <br />Services Board presented the budget request for the Comprehensive <br />Services Act, which totalled $126,885. Ms. Conrad reported that funds <br />budgeted for this purpose for FY 93-94 would not be fully expended due <br />to efforts on the part of the Community Policy and Management Team to <br />limit costs. <br /> <br />Mr. Tobin presented the budget request of the Piedmont Regional <br />Community Services Board, which totalled $43,666. The City Manager <br />included $42,394 in the basic budget, the same level as FY 93-94, but <br /> <br /> <br />
