TUESDAY, APRIL 12, 1994 <br />(DARE) Program at the 9th grade level at Martinsville High School. Mr. <br />Reynolds noted the source of funds received from the Drug Task Force <br /> <br />was private donations. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved a <br />supplemental appropriation to the Police Department's FY 93-94 Budget <br />in the amount of 81,971 which was received from the Federal Government <br />for the sale .of assets seized in the course of a drug-related <br />investigation. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved the <br />following nominations to the Virginia Municipal League for 1994 Policy <br />Committee appointments: Thomas Harned--Community and Economic <br />Development; William A. Shackleford, Sr.--Education; Dewey Cashwell-- <br />Effective Government; M. Gene Teague--Environmental Quality; Clyde L. <br />Williams--Human Development; Terry L. Roop--Public Safety; and Leon E. <br />Towarnicki--Transportation. <br /> <br />Council announced final approval of the change of location of Voter <br />Precinct No. 3 from the Southside Fire Station to the Virginia Museum <br />of Natural History. Council asked the City Manager to write a letter <br />of thanks to Thelma Pinkard for bringing this issue before the Council. <br />In a related matter, it was noted that the City Administration and <br />School Division Administration were addressing issues raised by the <br />Electoral Board regarding the Voter Precincts located at Druid Hills <br />Elementary School and Martinsville Junior High. Councilman Oakes <br />requested that a report on this matter be given by the School <br />Administration at the next Council meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
