TUESDAY, MARCH 22, 1994 <br />the area were concerned about certain aspects of the project (such as <br />the loss of trees and yard space), but she felt it would be beneficial <br />to the neighborhood; (2) George C. Cox, 1038 Owens Road, expressed <br />concern regarding junked automobiles and debris off of the South side <br />of Fayette Street in the area known as "Koehler Hill", to which Mr. <br />Reynolds replied that the planned establishment of a full service code <br />enforcement program which will be implemented with the establishment of <br />an Office of Community Development having a full time Director and an <br />additional Inspector should assist in dealing with problems such as <br />these; (3) Bob Pinkard, 208 Park Street, inquired about exposed sewer <br />lines located in the area mentioned by Mr. Cox, to which Mr. Reynolds <br />replied that the City intended to seek out grant funding to relocate <br />the lines underground; (4) Bruce Dallas expressed concern regarding <br />abandoned and/or inoperative vehicles to which Mr. Reynolds responded <br />that the City was examining whether its existing Ordinance which is <br />designed to address this problem can be strengthened; (5) James <br />Crigger, 1122 S. Askin St., expressed the following concerns: (a) the <br />need for revitalization of the South Askin Street area; (b) violation <br />of No Parking signs on South Askin St.; (c) a sight distance problem <br />caused by overgrown vegetation on a vacant lot located next to 203 <br />South Askin; (d) a request for construction of a walking track at <br />Southside Park; (e) at the intersection of Starling Ave., Askin St. and <br />Memorial Boulevard a "No turn on Red" sign was not replaced after the <br />traffic signal was reconstructed following a traffic accident; and (f) <br />suspicious activity at a car wash at the intersection of Memorial <br />Boulevard and Askin Street; (6) Joseph Finley stated he had visited <br />every Uptown business and had collected 30 pages of notes of business <br />operators' concerns; the Mayor suggested he share the notes with the <br />Executive Director of the Uptown Revitalization Association; (7) Thelma <br /> <br /> <br />
