THURSDAY, AUGUST 25, 1995 <br /> <br />See that funds for education are well used and well <br /> managed. <br />Influence the goals on education. <br />Seek compatible goals and objectives. <br />Seek compatible action steps on common goals. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Identify common goals from the Community-in- <br />Transition report and develop joint strategies for <br />implementation. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Develop County support for the development of <br />community and regional strategies. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Develop a plan that will make the land use <br />strategies of both the City and County compatible. <br /> <br />Action Step: <br /> <br />Arrange for City and County Planning Commissions to <br />meet with Council and Supervisors to identify areas <br />of potential land use incompatibilities and <br />infrastructure issues. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Identify joint revenue sharing opportunities. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Evaluate progress on 1994-1995 City-County <br />strategic plan and reorder priorities as required. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Monitor budget strategies developed in 1994-95 with <br />City schools. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Explore ways that the financial systems of the City <br />and the public schools can be coordinated and <br />integrated. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Identify priorities for 1995-96 School/City retreat <br />and identify progress on objectives determined to <br />be important in last year's retreat. <br /> <br />Council took a 30 minute recess at 10:00 am, and then returned to <br />their work session to take up discussion of development of capital <br />investment strategies. This discussion continued until 12:00 noon, <br />at which time Council recessed for lunch. The Retreat session <br />resumed at 1:00 ~pm, and Council continued their discussion of <br />capital investment issues, along with revenue, finance, and other <br />related issues. The following Capital Project Plans and Priorities <br />list was produced from this discussion: <br /> <br />Council agreed that it would identify capital projects by category <br />as follows: <br /> <br />CATEGORY I Projects which need strategic plans this year. <br /> <br /> <br />
