TUESDAY, CONE 13, 1995 <br />the changes in Uptown parking regulations, as had been discussed by <br />Council in an earlier meeting. Zn' response to a question from <br />Councilman Willjams, City Manager Earl B. Reynolds, Jr. stated that the <br />penalty for exceeding the posted one-hour limit for on-street parking <br />could be placed on the new signs which will be installed in Uptown. <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council adopted the <br />following Ordinance: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in <br />regular session assembled June 13, 1995, that it does hereby amend <br />Chapter 12--Motor Vehicles and Traffic, Article IV--Stopping, Standing <br />and Parking, of the City Code by repealing Section 12-82--Two-hour <br />limit on parking in free space in municipal parking lot behind Jeffer- <br />son Plaza, and amending Section 12-103--Parking citation penalties, as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Scc. 12 82. <br /> <br />Two hour limit on parking in frcc spacc in municipal <br />parking lot bchind Jcffcrson Plaza. <br /> <br /> Exccpt on Sundays, no pcrson shall park and rcmain parkcd in frcc <br />parking spaccs or arcas in thc wcst half of thc municipal parking lot <br />boundcd by Bridgc, Church, Broad and Chcstnut Strccts and south of thc <br />Jcffcrson Plaza building for morc than two (2) hours, whcthcr occupying <br />thc samc spacc or not. <br /> <br />Sec. 12-103. Parking citation penalties. <br /> <br /> The penalty applicable to parking citations issued for violations <br />of the following sections of this article shall be as herein indicated: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />For violation of section 12-73, 12-74, 12-75, 12-77, 12-78, <br />12-79, 12-81, 12 82, 12-84, 12-87, 12-91, 12-94, 12-95, or <br />12-96, 12-97 or 12 98, the penalty shall be fivc dollars <br />($5.00) fifteen dollars ($15.00). <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />For violation of scction 12 81, thc pcnalty shall bc thrcc <br />dollars ($3.00). <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />For violation of scction 12 87, thc pcnalty shall bc two <br />dollars ($2.00). <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />For violation of section 12-97 or 12-98, the penalty shall be <br />twenty-five (S25.00). <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this ordinance shall be effective July 1, <br />1995. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council accepted and <br />appropriated S180.12 to the Police Departments FY 94-95 budget received <br /> <br /> <br />
