MAY 23. 1995 <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council, that, an emergency <br />existing, this ordinance shall be in force on and after May <br />24, 1995. <br /> <br />Council considered an amendment to the City's Proposed Land Use Plan in <br />order to change the designation of the property which was rezoned from <br />Public and Semi-Public to Industrial. It was noted that a public <br />hearing on this item was also held during the May 9, 1995 3oint meeting <br />with the Planning Commission and the Commission had recommended <br /> <br />approval of the amendment during their May 18, <br />motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, <br />following Ordinance: <br /> <br />1995 meeting. Upon <br />Council adopted the <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, in regular meeting assembled May 23, 1995, that the <br />Land Use Plan of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, be--and <br />is hereby--amended to the extent that Section 14, Block 1, <br />Lot 1, on the Tax Map of the City of Martinsville be and is <br />hereby designated as being for Industrial usage. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that, an emergency <br />existing, this ordinance shall be in force on an after May <br />24, 1995. <br /> <br />Council considered adoption of Ordinance No. 95-4 approving <br />appropriations and establishing tax rates for FY 95-96. The Mayor <br />summarized the various appropriations and tax rates contained in the <br />Ordinance. Regarding the request by the Sheriff to add funding for a <br />Classification Officer position, Council requested the City Manager <br />review this matter to determine if funding the position could <br />ultimately save money by eliminating expenses for consultants to assist <br />in the development of the Community Corrections Plan and in assuring <br />that any 3all addition or new construction meet the State minimum <br />standards for reimbursement of expenses. Upon motion, duly seconded, <br />and by unanimous vote, Council adopted the following Ordinance on an <br />emergency basis: <br /> <br /> <br />
