188 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, MAY 9. 1995 <br /> <br />Intensified Drug Enforcement Assistance Grant. Chief of Police Terry <br />L. Roop noted the grant had provided funding for 95% of the costs of <br />two additional police officers for FY 94-95 and would provide 90% of <br />funding for the two officers for FY 95-96. The City's 10% share would <br />be $6,609, which was included in the City Manager's proposed FY 95-96 <br />budget. <br /> <br />Council considered a report ena Citizen's Survey which was recently <br />conducted. Each member of CounCil received a copy of the Survey, which <br />included statistical data oncitizen's satisfaction with City services, <br />along with a record of each comment made. Brenda Prillaman, Customer <br />Service Representative, was present to make the report and to respond <br />to questions from the members of Council. All Councilmen present <br />expressed positive comments regarding the report. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council nominated the <br /> <br />following individuals for appointment to the Virginia Municipal <br /> <br />League's Policy Committees: Community Development and Public Safety - <br /> <br />Tom Harned; Environmental Quality - M. Gene Teague; Finance - Earl B. <br />Reynolds, j~l Human DeVelopment and Education - Clyde Willjams; <br />~eneraX ~ag~g'~'~;-t - s~k c~t~; Transportation - Leon Towarnicki. <br /> <br />upon'motion, du~y seconded and by unanimous vote, Counci~ authorized <br /> <br />the City Manager to execute a contract for the Southside Economic <br /> <br />Development Commission matching grant for the Martinsville-Henry County <br />Teleconomic pro3ect. Mr. Reynolds noted matching funds in the amount <br /> <br />of $20,316.23 were contained in the FY 94-95 Budget. <br /> <br /> <br />
