That certain lot or parcel of land,.situate at 719 <br />Mulberry Road, in the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />and being known as Lot 43, Front 104 feet of Parcel A, <br />which land is more particularly described in that <br />certain notice dated April 20, 1995, from Bernice H. <br />Smith, Treasurer, to Roger L. Young and Cynthia Young, <br />a copy of which notice is attached hereto and made a <br />part of this resolution as though it were set forth <br />verbatim herein. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said attorney shall commence said <br />proceedings on or before June 6, 1995, but no sooner than May <br />23, 1995. <br /> <br />337 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council authorized <br />the City Manager to send a letter to Appalachian Power Company <br />requesting negotiation of a new Electric Service Agreement and <br />termination of the City's existing Electric Service Agreement as of <br />June 30, 1998. Mr. Reynolds explained the notice of termination was <br />necessary due to the three-year notice period contained in the existing <br />Electric Service Agreement. It is believed a new Agreement can be <br />negotiated prior to the expiration of the current Agreement. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council accepted and <br />appropriated Sl00 received from the Martinsville Elks Lodge to the <br />Police Department's FY 94-95 budget for its drug abuse-program. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved <br />several changes to the Community-in-Transition's mission statement as <br />proposed by the CIT Focus Group. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council authorized <br />the Police Department to submit an application for continuation of its <br /> <br /> <br />
