MAY 9. 1995 <br /> <br />to the City's Proposed Land Use Plan which would change the designation <br />of the property to be rezoned from Public and Semi-Public to <br />Industrial. There being no comments from the public, the Planning <br />'Commission closed their public hearing. <br /> <br />The Council then conducted a public hearing on the amendment to the <br />Proposed Land Use Plan. No comments were offered from the public, <br />therefore, Mayor Adams declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br />The meeting was then recessed and reconvened, with the same members of <br />Council being present, in the Council Chamber, City Hall. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded, and by unanimous vote, Council approved the <br />minutes of its meetings of April 12, 13, 21, 24, and 25, 1995 as <br />circulated. <br /> <br />Council conducted a public hearing on a request by the City <br />Administration to rezone property between Endless and Jackson Streets, <br />an area located in the Massey Street Community Development Block Grant <br />Project and more specifically known as Lots 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 52A, 53A, <br />54, 55, and 56 of Section 31, Block 2,K., and Lots 1 through 9 of <br />Section 31, Block 5, on the City's Tax Map, from C-3 Commercial to R-6 <br />Residential. In response to a question from Bruce Dallas, 211Massey <br />Street, Mr. Harned said the zoning change would result in the area <br />being more restrictive in terms of possible development. Also in <br />response to Mr. Dallas, City Attorney David B. Worthy said an apartment <br />complex could be built in the area, however, such a complex can be <br />built anywhere in the City with the granting of a special use permit. <br />There being no other public comment, Mayor Adams declared the public <br /> <br /> <br />
