FRIDAY, APRIL 21, 199J along with Raymond Dietz, a member of the CSB Board of Directors. The FY 94-95 contribution to the CSB was $43,666. The request for FY 95-96 was $44,976. The City Manager's budget recommended funding of 843,666 in the basic budget and Sl,310 in the supplemental budget. In response to questions from the members of Council, Mr. Tobin said the CSB had granted 3% pay increases during FY 94-95 and would average somewhat less than 4% for FY 95-96. The CSB was requesting a 3% increase from each of the local governments in its service'.area. Joan Hullett, Assistant Director of the West Piedmont Planning District Commission, was present to request funding in the amount of S8,081 for FY 95-96. The FY 94-95 contribution from the City was $6,142. The City Manager's budget recommended funding of $6,142 in thebasic budget and $1,939 in the supplemental budget. Ms. Hullett noted that the Commission was requesting an increase from each of its local governments, but this was necessitated by potential cutbacks in State funding, which may not occur. If the cutbacks do not occur, the Commission will not require additional funding. Ellen Bell, Executive Director of the Blue Ridge Regional Library, and Betty Jane Simpson, Board member, were present to request $267,554 for FY 95-96 as the City's contribution to the Library's operation. The City's contribution for FY 94-95 was $257,554. The City Manager's basic budget contained $258,798, which included Sl,206 for 6 additional page hours for the Martinsville Branch. The supplemental budget contained 88,756 for funding for salary increases designed, in part, to raise salaries for certain positions in order for them to be in line with other libraries.
