TUESDAY, MARCH 14, 1995 <br /> <br />Mulberry/Spruce/Jefferson intersection. Upon motion, duly seconded and <br />by unanimous vote, Council voted to support the recommendation of the <br />Transportation Safety Commission of no change being made in the <br />Mulberry/Spruce/Jefferson intersection. Regarding the intersection of <br />Clearview Drive and Barrows Mill Road, Mr. Reynolds recommended no <br />change be made at the intersection at this time and that it be included <br />in the overall study of traffic in the Liberty, Stultz, Clearview, <br />Northside Drive area. Councilmen Teague and Oakes supported this view. <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council voted to <br />support the recommendation of the City Manager. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved <br />funding in the amount of $9,850 to the Gateway Streetscape Foundation <br />in order to provide matching funds for a grant from the Department of <br />Forestry for the 58 East/East Church Street beautification project. <br />Edie Reed, Executive Director of the Gateway Streetscape Foundation, <br />was present to explain the project and to respond to questions from the <br />members of Council. Mr. Reynolds noted that funds had been included in <br />the FY 94-95 Budget for this purpose. Upon motion, duly seconded and <br />by unanimous vote, Council voted to approve the funds for the project. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous <br />recorded vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose <br />of discussing the following matters: (1) consultation with legal <br />counsel, as authorized by Subsection 7; (2) the possible disposition of <br />City-owned property, as authorized. by Subsection 3; (3) consultation <br />with legal counsel, as authorized by Subsection 7; (4) the possible <br />disposition of City-owned property, as authorized by Subsection 3; (5) <br /> <br /> <br />
