TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 1995 <br /> <br />$441.20 received from State forfeited asset proceeds and appropriated <br />the same amount to the Police Department, to be used for law <br />enforcement purposes. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a financial report for the month ending October <br />31, 1995. <br /> <br />Council considered appropriating $62,083 from the General Fund <br />unexpended fund balance to the School Fund. This request was made as <br />a result of the November 27, 1995 meeting between the School Board and <br />City Council at which the School Board requested a total supplemental <br />appropriation of S190,500 (Sl00,000 for replacement of a chiller at the <br />High School, $8,000 for replacement of a copier at Albert Harris <br />School, 88,000 for replacement of an air compressor at the High School, <br />$39,500 for educational programming for hearing-impaired students, <br />$15,000 for fees for a technology consultant, and 820,000 for fees for <br />a Superintendent search firm). Mr. Reynolds recommended Council <br />appropriate $62,803, consisting of $22,583 (a net underexpenditure of <br />the School System for FY 94-95) and $39,500 for education of the <br />hearing-impaired students. Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous <br />vote, Council approved the supplemental appropriation as recommended by <br />the City Manager. <br /> <br />Council considered appropriating $193,500 from the Meals Tax Fund to <br />the General Fund for architectural and engineering services for Albert <br />Harris School renovations and the Martinsville High School gymnasium. <br />Mr. Reynolds explained that if funding were approved, the City Staff <br />would issue a Request for Proposals for the Albert Harris project.
