42 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24, 1995 <br /> <br />(5) the City Manager reminded the Council of the work session scheduled <br />for November 2, 1995, beginning at 10:00 A.M.; and (6) the City Manager <br />noted the City's application for Enterprise Zone status had been <br />amended to include the section of Fayette Street from Market Street to <br />Memorial Boulevard as well as to include the V.M. Draper facility on <br />Jackson Street. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous <br />recorded vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose <br />of discussing the following matters: (1) appointments to the School <br />Board and Board of Zoning Appeals, as authorized by Subsection 1; (2) <br />the possible disposition of publicly-held property, as authorized by <br />Subsection 3; (3) the possible acquisition of property for public use, <br />as authorized by Subsection 3; (4) the possible acquisition of property <br />for public use, as authorized by Subsection 3; (5) the possible <br />investment of public funds, as authorized by Subsection 6; and (6) a <br />personnel matter, as authorized by Subsection 1. At the conclusion of <br />this Executive Session, each member of Council certified that (1) only <br />public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br />discussed in said Executive Session; and (2) only those business <br />matters identified in the motion convening the Executive Session were <br />heard, discussed or considered during said Session. <br /> <br />Councilman Crabtree nominated Charles W. Davies, Jr., 1234 Mulberry <br />Road, for appointment to the School Board for an unexpired term ending <br />June 30, 1996. This nomination was seconded by Vice-Mayor Oakes. <br />Councilman Willjams nominated Robert A. Willjams, 1119 Corn Tassel <br />Trail, for appointment to the School Board for an unexpired term ending <br /> <br /> <br />
