40 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24, 1995 <br /> <br />$6,500 for this purpose, to be taken from the General Fund unexpended <br />fund balance. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved the <br />following financial matters relating to the Police Department: (1) <br />acceptance of State forfeited asset proceeds of $13,262.40 and <br />appropriation of same to the EDP Equipment line item; (2) acceptance of <br />State forfeited asset proceeds of $18,110.07 and appropriation of same <br />to the EDP Equipment line item; (3) acceptance of State forfeited asset <br />proceeds of $1,125 and appropriation of same to the EDP Equipment line <br />item; (4) acceptance of Federal forfeited asset proceeds of $2,435.17 <br />and appropriation of same to the EDP Equipment line item; and (5) <br />acceptance of $9,984.03 received from the raffle of a car donated by <br />Dr. Elizabeth Vaughan and appropriation of $1,000 to Community Policing <br /> <br />and $8,984.03 to the EDP Equipment line item. <br />members of Council expressed appreciation to <br />generous donation to the Department. <br /> <br /> Chief Roop and the <br />Dr. Vaughan for her <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council accepted <br />State forfeited asset proceeds of $407.25 and appropriated same to the <br />EDP Equipment line item of the Commonwealth Attorney's budget. <br /> <br />Council considered acceptance of a $10,000 stock donation to the City <br />of Martinsville for the Police Department's information systems <br />program. Chief Roop explained the donor wished to remain anonymous. <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council took the <br />following actions: (1) officially accepted the donation; (2) adopted <br />a corporate bank resolution; (2) authorized the establishment of a <br />brokerage account; (3) authorized the sale of the donated .stock; and <br /> <br /> <br />
