A Tower may be guyed or self <br /> supporting and guy wires, frame work or other supporting and stabilizing devices are considered <br /> part of the structure of the tower. <br /> <br />Section V. General Dimension Requirements <br /> <br />So General Telecommunication Regulations <br /> <br />An antenna and any related unmanned equipment building, permitted by right in certain <br />zoning districts hereir~ shall be subject to the following requirements: <br /> <br />(1) An antenna may be located on non-residential structures. <br /> <br />(2) An antenna may be located on an existing tower or monopole. <br /> <br />(3) An antenna may be located on buildings and structures owned or controlled by a public <br /> utility or the City of Martinsville. <br /> <br />(4) An antenna shall not add more than twenty (20) feet in height to any structure or tower <br /> and shall comply with all other height requirements contained in this code. <br /> <br />(5) <br /> <br />An omnidirectional or whip antenna shall not exceed twenty (20) feet in height or <br />seven (7) inches in diameter and shall be of a material or color which matches the <br />exterior of the building or structure. <br /> <br />(6) <br /> <br />A directional or panel antenna shall not exceed six (6) feet in height or two (2) feet in <br />width and shall be of a material or color which matches the exterior of the building or <br />structure. <br /> <br />(7) <br /> <br />Satellite and microwave dish antennas shall not exceed six (6) feet in diameter, shall be <br />of a neutral or non-reflective color with no logos, and when building or roof top <br />mounted shall belocated or screened so as not to be visible from abutting public streets. <br /> <br />(8) No commercial advertising shall be allowed on an antenna. <br /> <br />(9) No signals, lights, or illumination shall be permitted on an antenna unless required by <br /> the FCC, FAA, or City of Martinsville. <br /> <br />(10) A related unmanned equipment building shall not contain more than 750 square feet of <br /> gross floor area or be more than twelve (12) feet in height. <br /> <br />(11) If the related unmanned equipment building is located on the roof of a building, its area <br /> and the area of the other equipment and structures shall not occupy more than twenty- <br /> five (25) percent of the roof area. <br /> <br />(12) A related unmanned equipment building and antenna shall meet all Zoning and <br /> Building Code requirements including, but not limited to, minimum yard requirements <br /> for primary structures. <br /> <br /> <br />
