TUESDAY, AUGUST 25, 1998 <br />no further discussion, upon motion by Council Member Roop, second by Council Member Dallas, and <br /> <br />unanimous vote (5-Ayes--Crabtree, Teague, Dallas, Haskell and Roop; 0-Nayes), Council approved <br />Ordinance No. 98-10 on second reading, as follows: <br /> <br />of Martinsville, Virginia <br />Ordinance No. 98-10 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND, REVISE, AND REORDAIN APPENDIX B [ZONING ORDINANCE], <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA, PERTAINING TO <br />TELECOMMUNICATIONS. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 1VEARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA, in regular <br />session assembled August 25, 1998, that Appendix B [Zoning Ordinance] of the Code of the City of <br />Martinsville, Virginia, be amended, revised, and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Appendix B <br />Zoning Ordinance <br /> <br />Section II. Definitions <br /> <br /> Antenna means a communication device which transmits or receives electromagnetic signals. <br />Antennas may be directional, including panels and microwave dishes, and omnidirectional <br />including satellite dishes, whips, dipoles, and parabolic types. An antenna does not include the <br />tower or other supporting structure to which it is attached. <br /> <br /> Height means, when referring to a tower or other structure, the distance measured from ground <br />level to the highest point on the tower or other structure even if said highest point is an antenna. <br /> <br />FAA means the Federal Aviation Administration. <br /> <br />FCC means the Federal Communications Commission. <br /> <br />Monopole means a single pole structure usually self supporting used to support antennas. <br /> <br /> Talecommunication means the transmitting and receiving of electromagnetic signals through <br />the atmosphere. <br /> <br /> <br />
