TUESDAY, MAY 26, 1998 <br />excellent program and asked if a note could be provided in all City utility bills to further advise <br /> <br />customers of this payment option. Mr. Wade Bartlett, Director of Finance, stated that this would <br />be done. Ms. Conrad noted that the company providing the service would also soon make the <br />service available through the Internet. Council Member Haskell asked when the system would go <br />on line, and was told that it would be functional not later than July 3, 1998. Vice-Mayor Crabtree <br />thanked Ms. Conrad for her continued efforts to improve service in her office. <br /> <br />Council next considered the Consent Agenda. Upon motion duly seconded and by unanimous <br />vote the <br /> <br />Consent Agenda was approved, as follows: <br /> <br />Accepted and appropriated $300.00 in the General Fund for the Bike Rodeo sponsored by <br />the Community Oriented Police Program. Council accepted these contributions ($100 from <br />each--DuPont Employees Credit Union, Sportsman's Club and BPO Elks Club) into <br />Revenue Account 01-000500-1899055--Donations/Police Department for expenditure in <br />Account 01-310100 -300203 O--Community Policing in the General Fund. <br /> <br />B. Set a public hearing to receive applicants for membership on the City' s School Board. <br /> Council set a public hearing for their June 9, 1998, meeting. <br /> <br />Next on Council's agenda was the regular monthly Financial Report for April from Finance <br />Director Wade Bartlett. Mr. Bartlett noted that the current report showed little out of the <br />ordinary, with the exception of a significant increase in Meals Tax revenues of about $100,000. <br />He also noted that the General Fund and Electric Fund revenues were up, as well as Business <br />License revenues. Council Member Haskell observed that there were indicators that business was <br />picking up, and Council Member Teague noted that such reports were a formula for success, with <br />revenues higher than expected and expenditures lower than expected. Mr. Teague stated that this <br />was his fifth budget and that, as usual, good conservative government had resulted in no bad <br /> <br /> <br />
