The Mayor and Vice-Mayor then commended Mr. Harned and City <br />Manager Reynolds for a job well done, as did Councilmember Teague, who also suggested the need to <br />prompt the Virginia Department of Transportation to move as soon as possible on the improvements in the 5- <br />year Street improvement plans for the Liberty~Clearview area. City Manager Reynolds confirmed that this <br /> <br />would be done. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as mended) and upon <br />motion, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council then convened in Executive Session for the <br />purpose of discussing the following matters: (1) Possible acquisition of real property for public use, as <br />authorized by Subsection 3. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Executive Session, each member of Council certified that (1) only public business <br />matters exempt from open meeting requirements were discussed in said executive session; and (2) only those <br />business matters identified in the motion convening the Executive Session were heard, discussed, or <br />considered during said Session. <br /> <br />No action was taken by Council at this time. <br /> <br />Consideration was next given by Council to the approval, on first reading, of an amendment of Ordinance <br />No. 97-15, mending Chapter 13--Offenses-Miscellaneous, Article I-- in General, Section 13-11--Excessive, <br />Unnecessary, Etc., Noise, Subsection (a) (6) of the City Code.
