TUESDAY, JUNE 24, 1997 <br /> <br />193 <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a financial report for the month ending May 31, <br />1997. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council adopted <br />three resolutions related to signature authorizations on City bank <br />accounts with Patrick Henry National Bank, as follows: (1) Prison Farm <br />Inmate Account and (2) City Insurance Trust Fund Account - Adopted <br />resolutions authorizing Assistant Director of Finance Lisa L. Ernest <br />to sign in place of retiring Finance Director Richard D. Fitts; and <br /> <br />(3) City Checking Account - Adopted resolution authorizing City <br />Manager Earl B. Reynolds, Jr., along with Treasurer Bernice H. Smith, <br />to sign in place of retiring Finance Director Richard D. Fitts. <br /> <br />In matters not on the agenda, the following items were discussed: <br /> <br />Council Member Haskell made note of City Manager Reynolds' leadership <br />roles in the Virginia Local Government Managers Association and the <br />Virginia Municipal League. <br /> <br /> Council Member Dallas commented that Uptown businesses should be <br /> <br /> encouraged to display the American flag on appropriate occasions, such <br />~-, <br /> as the upcoming July 4th holiday. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344(A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded, and by unanimous <br />recorded vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose <br /> <br /> <br />
