dumpsters from $12.00 to 815.00. <br /> <br />THURSDAY, MAY 15, 1997 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved, on <br />first reading, Ordinance No. 97-8 amending Chapter 21--Taxation, <br />Article IV--Tax for E911 Emergency Telephone System, Section 21-51-- <br />Imposed; Application, Exemption, of the City Code. The proposed <br />Ordinance would increase the E911 tax from $.72 per month to $1.67 per <br />month. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved, on <br />first reading, Ordinance No. 97-9 amending Chapter 12--Motor Vehicles <br />and Traffic, Article III--Vehicle License, Section 12-51--Fee, of the <br />City Code. The proposed Ordinance would increase the annual license <br />fee for automobiles and trucks of not more than 15,000 pounds gross <br />weight from 815 to 820 and would increase the fee for motorcycles from <br />83 to 85. <br /> <br />Mr. Reynolds noted he had received a memorandum from Ira Trollinger, <br />School Superintendent, which identified $23,000 in FY 96-97 funds which <br />could be used to reduce the FY 97-98 School budget request. All <br />members of Council expressed appreciation to the Superintendent and <br />School Board for the spirit of cooperation which led them to identify <br />these savings. Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, <br />Council accepted the 823,000 savings and therefore reduced the FY 97-98 <br />proposed School Division budget by that amount. <br /> <br />Council Member Haskell made a motion to delete the S50,000 FY 96-97 <br />Refuse Fund expenditure for the clean-up of the old American Furniture <br />site.
