TUESDAY, JANUARY 28, 1997 <br />presentation would be made at that time; Sheriff Steve Draper stated he <br />was not being kept informed by City Staff of progress on these issues. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous <br />recorded vote, CouPtill convened into Executive Session for the purpose <br />of discussing the following matters: (1) appointments to Boards and <br />Commissions, as authorized by Subsection 1; (2) the possible sale of <br />City-owned property, as authorized by Subsection 3; and (3) the <br />possible acquisition of property for public use, as authorized by <br />Subsection 3. At the conclusion of this Executive Session, each member <br />of Council certified that (1) only public business matters exempt from <br />open meeting requirements were discussed in said Executive Session; and <br />(2) only those business matters identified in the motion convening the <br />Executive Session were heard, discussed or considered during said <br />Session. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council appointed <br />Lewis Martin, 604 Fifth Street, to the Board of Zoning Appeals to an <br />unexpired term ending 9/11/97. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council appointed <br />Marquerite Wilson, 1500 Roundabout Road, and reappointed Carolyn Beale, <br />509 Mulberry Road, and Walter Massie, 511 Fifth Street, to the Clean <br />Community Board to terms ending 2/28/99. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council reappointed <br />Robert McLachlan, 1607 Sam Lions Trail, to the Southern Area Agency on <br />Aging Board to a term ending 2/10/00. <br /> <br /> <br />
