TUESDAY, JANUARY 28, 1997 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council appointed <br />David Edwards, Chief of Police, to the Drug Task Force Board to fill an <br />unexpired term ending 6/30/98. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council accepted an <br />offer of $5,000 to purchase City property located at the southwest <br />corner of Church and Market Streets, known as Lots 7, 8, 9, and 10 on <br />the City's tax maps, from Charles White Chevyland. Council noted the <br />buyer would be responsible for all closing costs and would be requested <br />to plant an appropriate landscape buffer between the property and <br />adjacent property owners as well as to apply for an erosion and <br />sediment control permit for any proposed large-scale excavation of the <br />property. <br /> <br />Council took no action on the other matter discussed in Executive <br />Session. <br /> <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, Mayor Adams <br />declared the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />of Council <br /> <br /> <br />
