<br />January 23, 2007 <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Martinsville, assembled this twenty-third day of <br />January, 2007, that the City Council of Martinsville does hereby unanimously express, on behalf of the <br />grateful residents of Martinsville, its sincere appreciation to First Book, Bobby Labonte, Petty <br />Enterprises, Cheerios, Martinsville Speedway and International Speedway Corporation, and heartily <br />endorse the program, expressing hope for its continuance. <br /> <br />Council Member Ferrill moved to adopt the Resolution as presented; the motion <br /> <br />was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: <br /> <br />Vote 4-0. Yeas (4) - Reynolds, Clark, Ferrill, Lawson. Nays (0) - None. Absent <br /> <br />(1) - Anderson. The Resolution was then presented to Clay Campbell. <br /> <br />Police Chief Mike Rogers returned to the meeting with Sergeant Dan <br /> <br />Smith and the thermal imaging camera and posed for a picture with Pat <br /> <br />Featherstun for the media. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Clark made a motion to approve the City's prioritized list of <br /> <br />projects to be included in the Year 2007 Regional Comprehensive Economic <br /> <br />Development Strategy and authorizing the City Manager to provide this <br /> <br />information to the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development <br /> <br />Administration; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following <br /> <br />vote, with all members voting: Vote 4-0. Yeas (4) - Reynolds, Clark, Ferrill, <br /> <br />Lawson. Nays (0) - None. Absent (1) - Anderson. <br /> <br />Council next considered conducting a public hearing and adoption of a <br /> <br />Resolution requesting amendment of our enterprise zone incentives.
