Hanson <br /> <br />Subdivis ionu, prepared in July, 1955 and on record in tIle Gurrent Map Book of the <br /> <br />City of 1,1artinsville err cuit Court Clerk's Office.rt <br /> <br />1:1 <br />~~ <br />i <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, on January 26, 1956 sealed bids were invited <br /> <br />and received by the City for the purchase of the City IS two lots at the corner of Spring <br /> <br />and ',Voodrow Streets. These seale d bids consisted of the follm'fing: <br /> <br />Charlie M. Fioney <br />Clarence E. Scott <br /> <br />$ 3, 151.05, and <br />3,050.00. <br /> <br />Subseqllent to the receiving of these bids, an offer was received from Dr. John W. <br /> <br />Clark to purchase these lots for the sum of $3,225.00 contingent upon certain conditions <br /> <br />not lnade a part of tr.e bid proposal and Council agreed not to consider Dr. Clerk's <br /> <br />offer. Council then unanimously accepted the high bid of $3,151.05 submitted by Mr. <br /> <br />Finney, check for which was attached to the bid and aclmmvledgment herei'rith noted. <br /> <br />In response to the JeLYIu2rY 19th request of the Southern Bank of Commerce, soliciting <br /> <br />,..- <br /> <br />the depositing of City funds for checking account purposes, Council designated said <br /> <br />Southern Banl< of Commerce as an official depositary for City funds for such purpose, <br />
