It was understood by Council that said loan would not be <br /> <br />payable back to the Federal Goverrurent unless and until actual construction is begun. <br /> <br />In receiving an inquiry from Mr. W. H. Handy as to whe ther the City would sell to him <br /> <br />a lot owned by the City at or near the intersection of Rivermont Heights and Memorial <br /> <br />Boulevard South, which lot is presently rented to Mr. Handy on a month-to-month basis, <br /> <br />Council authorized the public advertising for sealed bids for the purchase of said <br /> <br />property, reserving the right to reject any and all bids. <br /> <br />By recent letter to City Manager Mathewson, Mr. J. Ford Burgess requested that an <br /> <br /> <br />agreement of January 10, 1927 between the City and Hr. Burgess' parents, which agree- <br /> <br />ment provided far an easement across the Burgess' property for a water line now no <br /> <br /> <br />longer in use, be dissolved; whereupon, Council directed that proper legal instn1JTlent <br /> <br /> <br />to comply with this request be drawn by the City Attorney. <br /> <br />A petition from residents of Banner street and Ridge Drive (Road), requesting that <br /> <br /> <br />the (portion of a) street now identified as "Ridge Drive" (Road) be re-named, and <br /> <br />made a part of, Banrer street, was referred to the Planning COI'lillission for its <br /> <br /> <br />comideration and recorilllendation. <br />
