With orderly additions to our <br /> <br />clear water storage basins and distribution mains. we have and <br /> <br />will have for many years to come a water supply system second <br /> <br />to none. Its capacity will handle a city several times our size. <br /> <br />This should mean much to the business growth of our community. <br /> <br />The Martillsville Planning Commission is charged with the <br /> <br />responsibility of guiding the economic growth of our City <br /> <br />through the proper development of land, streets and buildings. <br /> <br />The importance of business and industry is constantly before <br /> <br />this group. It is increasingly apparent that they are making <br /> <br />every effort to assist business and industrial growth--whenever <br /> <br />and wherever such action will be in the public interest and will <br /> <br />not prove an undue hardship on individual property owners. In <br /> <br />short, the Planning Commission is doing all it can to foster <br /> <br />solid commercial growth and development. <br /> <br />Every year our school system is making available to our <br /> <br />business and industry a priceless commodity--a supply of <br /> <br />better-than-average trained manpower. Every school system <br /> <br />turns out a supply of manpower--good. bad or indifferent. <br /> <br />Martinsville's business and industry has the edge on other <br /> <br />- 4 - <br /> <br />I <br />
