<br />.78 <br /> <br />TUESDA Y <br /> <br />DECEMBER 8. 1953 <br /> <br />An ordinance establishing "curfew" hours for local public parks and play-. <br />grounds (and penalties for the violation thereof) having been introduced <br />and placed on first reading by Council in its November 24th (1953) meeting, <br /> <br />and upon motion for final adoption, Council adopted said ordinance, as <br /> <br />follows, with emergency clause .attached: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled, as follows: <br /> <br />It shall be unlawfUl for any person to loiter or play in or upon <br />any public park or playground in the City of Hartinsville between <br />the hours of 11:00 P.M. and 7:00 A.M. on the following day, <br />official City time. <br /> <br />Any person or persons found guilty of violating this section shall <br />be fined not less than five ($5.00) dollars, nor more than fifty <br />($50.00) d'ollars, or confined in jail not more than ten (10) days, <br />or punished by both fine and imprisonment for each offense. <br /> <br />All existing ordinance of the City of Martinsville are hereby re- <br />pealed in so far as they may be inconsistent with the provisions of <br />this ordinance. <br /> <br />An emergency existing, this ordinance shall be in effect from date <br />of its passage. <br /> <br />Council also adopted the following ordinance, with emergency clause attached, <br /> <br />setting forth, among other things, terms of office of local Planning Commission <br /> <br />members as well as providing for an enlarged membership of seven members for <br /> <br />said Commission: <br /> <br />(SEE INSERT) <br />
