1~ TUESDAY DEnlliBER 8. 1953 BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia in regular meeting assembled this eighth day of December, 1953 that the Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville, entitled "Building Zone Map of the City of V!8.rtinsville dated September 1, 1946", and the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Martinsville be amended so that the following described property on Spruce street Extended shall read and be classified as "B-1 Business" property: ,- Beginning at a point in the north line of Spruce Street and on the Ene between Lanier Farms, Inc., and the property facing Parkview Street and lying on the N. E. corner of Parkview and Spruce Street, thence following the north line of Spruce Street, 150 feet deep, for a distance of approximately 1,096 feet; and including a proposed 50-foot street leading off said Spruce Street to the north 150 feet on both sides. The terms of this Ordinance having been duly advertised in a Notice for Public Hearing, which Public Hearing was held this eighth day of December, 1953, said Ordinance is hereby adopted and,an emergency existing, is made effective this eighth day of December, 1953. ~- ~~ v> ~ Also, in accordance with duly-advertised notice, Council conducted a Public Hearing on the J. H. McMillan petition for the rezoning of certain of his property located on the west side of River Hill Road near the City's Corporate Limits. There being no expressed opposition to this rezoning, Council placed the following ordinance effecting said rezoning on first reading: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, that the Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville, entitled "Building Zone Map of the City of Martinsville dated September 1, 1946", and the Zoning Ordinance of the Ci ty of Martinsville be amended so that the following des- crjbed property on River Hill Road (Route 220 South) shall ree.d and be classified as ''B-1 Business" property: Beginning at a point in the west line of South Bridge Street and the south line of Sunset Drive, thence in a southerly direction 40 feet, more or less, to the Corporate Limit line of the City of Martinsville; thence with this line and the south line of the McMillan property 325 feet, more or less; thence N400 OO'E 75 feet to the south line of Sunset Drive; thence with this line S410 l3'E 334 feet to the point of beginning.
