~82 TUESDAY DECEMBER. 16, 1958 unaniInous vote, COUI1Cil appropriated the sum of $4,500.00 for the purposes out- lined, $3,500.00 from its General Fund Emergency Account and ~~1,000.00 from estimated revenue to be realized from the pannill Estate contribution. Further, in connection with parking facilities, Council reviewed the November report and recommendations submitted by the Citizens Parking Conunittee (Mr. leon Globman, Chairman) and, also, annoilllced that it has received numerous objections to the proposed change in parking meter rates. Although IvIr. Globman emphasized the importance as he and his cormnittee attach to their recommendations, Council took no action on said recommendations. Council continued for further consideration the matter of suggesting nominees to Judge John D. Hooker, of the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court, far membership on the 1959 Board of Equalization. Council approved for proper execution by City authorities a contract with Mr. J. D. Renfroe providing far the extending of a City water main outside the east corporate limits under conditions outlined in said contract and as tentatively approved by Council on November 25, 1958. Messrs. R. A. Henderson, Sr., and Charlie M. Finney by letter and in person petitioned Council to provide vmter service to Edgewood Village Subdivision being developed by Messrs. Henderson and Finney just outside the City at the north corporate limits. Inasmuch as this development does not meet the City's require- ments relating to utility extensions outside the corporatel:iJnits, Council took no action other than to take the request under advisement.
