<br />~60 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 9, 1958 <br /> <br />After receiving a report dated September 5, 1958 from Attorney A. 1. Philpott, <br /> <br />pertaining to a recent conference of area representatives stuqying the feasibility <br /> <br />and ways and means of establishing a juvenile detention home for this area, <br /> <br />Council authorized Ma;vor Shultz to appoint a member of Council to serve on a <br /> <br />juvenile detention home planning committee and authorized this member to obligate <br /> <br />the City for the City's share of architectural plans and costs not to exceed <br /> <br />$300.00. By a recorded and unanimous vote, Coumil appropriated from its <br /> <br />Emergency Fund the sum of $300.00 for this purpose. <br /> <br />After reviewing a sunnnary of its opinions compiled by City Manager Hirst in <br /> <br />connection with the proposed revisions of the City Code, regulating the keeping <br /> <br />of livestock and other animals within the corporate limits, Council instructed <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst and City Attorney Taylor to present their recommended draft <br /> <br />of such revisions for Council's consideration. <br /> <br />Through memorandum of September 9, 1958 from Public Works Director George W. Brown <br />to City Manager Hirst, Council was advised that, in addition to the current budget <br />appropriation of $15 ,567.00, the sum of $24,806.20 is estimated as the requirement <br />to test and repair all City water neters within the next twelve months. Council <br />continued the matter for further study at its next regular meeting. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of City Manager Hirst, and by a recorded and unanimous vote, <br />Council appropriated from its Emergency Account and Salary Adjustnent Account the <br />sum of $3,565.00 required to finance the additional cost of police and fire <br />personnel service salary adjustnents alreaqy approved by Council retroactive to <br />July 1, 1958. <br />
