City Council shall refer to City C ouneil of the City of Martinsville, Virginia. <br /> <br />D. Commission shall refer to the official Planning Commission of the City of Martins- <br />ville, Virginia, unless otherwise specified. <br /> <br />E. General community plan shall refer to such officially authorized or accepted master, <br />comprehensive, or approved City plan as mayor shall be adopted by the City <br />F'lanning Commission and approved by the City Council. <br /> <br />F. Lot shall mean a numbered and recorded portion of a subdivision intended for trans- <br />fer of ownership or for building development for a single building and its accesc ry <br />building. <br /> <br />G. Corner lot shall be a lot abutting upon two (2) or more streets at their intersection, <br />the shortest side fronting upon a street shall be considered the front of the lot, and <br />the longest side fronting upon a street shall be considered the side of the lot. <br /> <br />H. Depth of lot shall be the mean horizontal distance between the front and rear lot <br />lines. <br /> <br />1. Double frontage lot shall refer to an interior lot having frontage on two (2) streets. <br /> <br />j. lnterior lots shall refer to a lot within a block and fronting on only one (I) street. <br /> <br />K. Lot of record shall be a lot which has been recorded in the office of the Circuit <br />Court of the City of Martinsville, Virginia. <br /> <br />L. Width of lot shall mean the horizontal distance between the side lot lines. <br /> <br />M. Flat shall include the terms: map, plan, plot, replat, or replot; a map or plan of <br />a tract or parcel of land which is to be, or which has been subdivided. When used <br />as a verb, "plat" is synonymous with "subdivide". <br /> <br />N. Property shall refer to any tract, plot, parcel or several of the same collected <br />together for the purpo:::;e of subdividing. <br /> <br />O. The term street means a public way which affords the principal means of access to <br />abutting properties. <br /> <br />1. Arterial streets and highways are those which are used primarily for fast 0"- <br />heavy traffic. <br /> <br />2. Collector streets are those which carry traffic from minor streets to the major <br />system of arterial streets and highways, including the principal entrance streets <br />of a residential development and streets for circulation within such a develop- <br />ment. <br /> <br />3.
