~16 TUESDA Y SEPTE}ffiER 24. 1957 Upon City Manager Hirst's recommendation, Council i.ntroduced and placed on first reading ordinances amending wld revising the City's Subdivision Ordinance, viz., (l) regulating development inside the City limits, and (2) governing water and/or sewer utility line extensions on existing streets within the corporate limits~ (SEE IN SERT) AN ORDINANCE establishing policy, and setting forth procedure, regulations and standards governing the extension of public water and sewer lines within the corporate limits of the City of Martinsville, Virginia BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COHJCIL OF TID?, CITY OF HARTINSVIILE, VA.: SECTION I - PURPOSE A. There aTe hereby established regulations governing the conditions and standards under which the City of MartL~sville will permit the Public water and sewer lllles to be extended within the corporate li~its of the City along or over streets, public rights-of-way or easements which were dedicated or made a matter of record, prior to the effective date of this ordinlli'1.ce, in the Clerk's Office of the City or of Henry County. SECTION 2 - Procedure A. Any individual, firm or corporation, hereinafter referred to as appliclli~t, requesting permission to extend the City's water and/or sewer utilities within the City shall conform to the following procedure: 1. Sui table information shall be supplied to the Public Works Department e.s evidence that the street in which request is made for the extension of such ~tilities was established and made a matter of record prior to the effective date of this ordinance. Such information may be required to include the Jate and map book reference wherein the street was dedicated and recorded. 2. A plan and profile shall be prepared and submitted to the Public '.!orks Department of the section of street pertaining to which the request has been made of the extension of water and/or sewer utilities. TIlis plan and profile shall indicate the unf:inished and finished grade of the street, proposed elev&tio~ of the WEter and sewer lines and the location of all necesse.ry storm dre.ins.
