<br />j <br /> <br />'ItJ ESDAY <br /> <br />JUNE 11. 1957 <br /> <br />~- <br /> <br />Later in executive session, the Board ruled that it the City <br />of Martinsville has not, on or before July 1, 1957, presented <br />a definite schedule for carrying out the remaining phases of <br />its pollution abatement program, a hearing is to be held at <br />its next meeting on July 16-17, 1957, to determine if a special <br />order shall be issued to the City of Martinsville directing <br />the City to secure within a specified time, to be determined <br />at the hearing, such operating results as are reasonable and <br />practicable of attainment toward the control, abatement, and <br />prevention of pollution of State waters. <br /> <br />The official notice of this hearing will be sent, as required by the <br />State Water Control Law, by certified mail at least 30 days before <br />the hearing. Meanwhile, we wish to advise that we have tentatively <br />set the hearing to begin at 10 A. M. on July 17, 1957. <br /> <br />Yours very truly <br /> <br />A. H. Ben Davis for extension <br /> <br />and/or enlargement of the City's water main on U. S. Route 220 South. <br /> <br />In connnenting on the current refuse disposal survey being conducted by the City, <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst recommended certain changes in the Health and Sanitation <br /> <br />Code regarding the capacity of refuse containers required for business firms, <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />whereupon Council amended said code by enacting the following ordinance: <br />
